A summer nights heavy heat
Stills the crickets song
Both moon and star blotted out
Storms break will not be long

Lightning's flare beneath dark clouds
No thunder to respond
A breathless night of weighty heat
Storms break will not be long

Will a breeze to stir the grass
Crickets resume their song
But no wind blows to banish night
Storms break will not be long
